Spring is fast approaching and here at CB Towers we've already started planning our nail designs for all the exciting spring and summer activities ahead. From weddings to holidays, there's an abundance of fresh and trendy nail styles to suit all occasions this season: pretty pastels, funky nail art and crazy colour combos are just a few fresh nail trends to feature on this season's catwalks. To re-create these styles, stock up on nail polish, tools, nail art and all other essential salon equipment here.
This season, pastel is the one of prettiest colour trends and is perfect for channelling on the nails of anyone from the Bride-to-be, to bridesmaids and wedding guests. Baby pink and mint green nails were spotted on the runway at Custo Barcelona, proving the scrumptious shades are on trend as well as wedding perfect.
It goes without saying, a bright and vibrant colour pop nail is essential for holidays. Turquoise and mint are stunning shades against tanned skin, or coral is perfect for working a tropical vibe. Alternatively, a bright white looks eye-catching and fresh—a trend that was spotted on the nails at the Band of Outsiders and Nanette Lepore shows. However, the ultimate holiday nail award has to go to the models at Emerson, who sported palm tree nail art on their talons—very exotic!
All rules go out the window when it comes to festival style. It's the perfect excuse to experiment and try trends we'd never normally dare to wear. Festivals are perfect for rocking crazy nail art, we love the crazy eyeball images painted on the models' nails at The Blonds catwalk show and the Rodarte show saw orange tribal patterned nails teamed with fringed bags—both super cool festival friendly ideas to try.
We all love to feel special on our birthday, therefore statement and bold, look-at-me talons are must-haves for birthday girls. From bright red to show-stopping glitter, the more attention-seeking the colour, the better. Betsey Johnson mixed metallic silver and pink glitter on her models nails at the SS14 show; perfect for disco divas. Contrastingly, the models at Jeremy Scott flaunted long pointy nails dripped in inky black polish, creating an edgy punk look that is sure to standout against summer pastels.
From classic colours to out-there prints, this season there's plenty of cool nail trends and designs to be inspired by when creating summer nail styles. Practice makes perfect and in the Coolblades office we're honing our new season nail designs now, ready for when the sun comes out to play.
