Tondeo

Tondeo

Masterpieces for Masters of their Craft

Tondeo started life in 1931 when Adolf Noss set up a razor blade factory in Solingen, Germany. Solingen has a proud, centuries-old heritage in the production of high quality blades and the stamp "me fecit Solingen" (made in Solingen) has appeared on sword blades since the Middle Ages. In many ways Solingen's tradition is similar to Sheffield's reputation as the home of quality steel blades in the UK. In 1949, the factory was taken over by the Tondeo sales company, who began production of Solingen hair scissors in 1960, moving to the production of Tondeo hairdressing scissors in the mid 70s. In 1980, the company became a subsidiary of Wella.

Tondeo's motto is "Innovation from tradition" and it combines craftsmanship, technology and design with the Solingen tradition to produce high quality hairdressing scissors and hair razors; each scissor going through approximately 150 stages in its journey from a blank piece of steel to a finished pair of hair scissors.

Reviews

In comparison with the Detailers it's very close. Blades are the same and power feels similar, both being quite powerful. The wire however is much more substantial and doesn't tangle the same which is a huge plus- the main fault with the detailers. The Hero's are incredibly light and also even smaller than my detailers however the casing bulges out which does get in the way a little bit as a pose to the detailers are the opposite, as they groove in. They look really nice and are overall a great trimmer. If it wasn't for the casing sticking out I couldn't fault them but the wire is a major positive.
