These 13 speciality shades fall into 2 groups—Creative and Technical—that are designed to help rectify mistakes and mix custom colours by either intensifying or toning down other IGORA ROYAL shades. The Creative colours split into the 9,5 Pastels and the Boosters (0-55, 0-77, 0-88, 0-89 and 0-99), while the Technical shades divide between the Neutralisers (0-11, 0-22 and 0-33) and the E-1 Extract shade.

The Pastels are designed for application to light bases (9 and lighter), giving natural-looking, soft tone directions to the hair. They're perfect for personalising a blond look or for neutralising after a lightening service. All shades can be intermixed. Develop visually with a 1:1 mix of 3% 10 Vol IGORA ROYAL Oil Developer for 5–30 minutes.

The Boosters are designed to be mixed with other shades and are perfect for boosting fashion tones in all directions. You can add up to 50% of the other colour used, but remember that adding that much will reduce covering power.

Likewise the Neutralisers are for mixing with other IGORA ROYAL shades to neutralise warmth. They're great when you want to create cool tone directions. The amount to use varies with level: 5% of colour on levels 8 and 9, 15% on 6 and 7 or 25% on levels 1 to 5.

The E-1 Extract shade is also designed to add even more variety to the IGORA ROYAL colour palette. It can be used mixed with other shades for an extra portion of cool tone direction or on its own to give you an extra deposit of cool pigments.
